Here are a few lessons I’ve learned along the way…
* You can only control your own response… you are not responsible for your crazy uncle, your cousin’s new wife, or your niece’s boyfriend. So take a deep breath, bite your tongue, and ENJOY the drama!
* Tradition is nice… but it shouldn’t be boring! CHANGE things up – go somewhere new – make something different – it’ll help keep things fresh.
* When a relative who doesn’t usually cook, makes something – RAVE about it… (especially if it is good) – the practice will only make them better cooks.
* Be nice to the kids! – Then maybe when you’re old they’ll actually WANT to see you at random family gatherings.
